Who is this for?
The freediving for surfers course is for anyone who wants to become bolder in bigger waves.
An intensive 1 day course of yoga, freediving and breath hold training for surfers.
The course aims to help develop the focus, skill and strength to ride big waves and the freediving know-how and confidence to handle big wave hold downs when things don’t go quite as planned.
This is not a general freediving course; it is tailored specifically for surfers to give maximum benefit in minimum time. Non surfers or anyone interested in the broader aspects of freediving should take the basic and advanced courses.
The focus of the breath hold training is on probing personal limits and breaking down mental walls. We do this by understanding and triggering the Mammalian Dive Reflex and experiencing directly just what the human body is capable of in breath hold situations.
The course is more intense than the basic and advanced courses and tailors the training to suit the specific demands of the surfer tackling bigger waves.
It’s all in the mind and when the mind knows what the body is capable of it can relax with incredible results.

Apneista is a community of Professional Freediving trainers and Yoga teachers. We train mostly in Amed Bali, but also teach and run Freediving and Yoga courses elsewhere in Indonesia and abroad.
We run most of our freedive training in and from our beautiful training space right on the beach in Amed, at the best spot in Bali for Freediving. Bali and most specifically Amed is fast becoming an important centre of freediving in SE Asia, with more and more Freedivers choosing it as a place to Freedive and hang out.
Apneista Freediving is in warm waters, with beautiful reefs and wrecks. The topside life is also great with a vibrant local culture which is famous the world over. Above there surface Amed is also great and full of things to do.
