Apneista Basic Freediver course
This two day freediving course in Amed Bali is an excellent general introduction to freediving for anyone interested in developing their aquatic ability.
From people with a lot of experience in the water to those with almost none this course is an important introduction to the silent world of freediving in the tropical waters around Amed, Bali.
This is the most intensive 2 day basic level freediving course available. Due to location and set up, we waste no time with boats and logistics meaning that more time is spent learning, practising freediving and adapting training to individual needs.
Even those with considerable freediving experience will benefit as the focus of the course is on developing good freediving technique and laying the foundation for effective and safe further freedive training.
The theory of the basic freediver course gives a solid understanding of the processes involved in freediving and how to develop good freedive technique and make most efficient use of O2.
Through awareness of the body’s physiological processes the student will learn to how to prepare both the mind and the body safely with a pre-dive breathe up and move through the water in an effective and fluid manner.
We do not have target depths, with freedive training being adapted to the needs and interests of the individual.
There is no focus on depth as an end in itself, our focus is on technique and comfort. There will be constant weight with fins and free immersion dives on a line to a maximum depth of 25 metres. Most people dive between 10 and 20 metre. Students will also establish themselves in good safety procedure, learning recovery breaths, rescue techniques and dry training so that they can continue to train safely in their own time.
We have also designed an easy to remember, easy to practice daily yoga for freedivers routine, which is part of the course.
